It was only after I had spent twenty-five years as a wife, mother, and software engineer that the Lord introduced me to the world of biblical counseling. I pursued formal training from the Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF), earning all three of their counseling certificates. The next step was to complete a master’s degree in counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary. My passion is to help people know God more personally, engage with Him more intimately, and find hope and help in the deep truths of His living word.
I have experience walking with those who struggle with marital or other relational difficulties, including navigating the complexities of abusive situations, sexual brokenness, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, recovery from trauma, and a variety of other spiritual struggles, in the context of both individual and marriage counseling. It is my desire to help people express their emotions in redemptive ways and communicate more effectively within their relationships.
I believe there is great wisdom in being attached to a local body of believers. My church is a place where I can both grow personally and be useful to the body as I counsel and disciple others. My husband Pete and I have been married for 38 years and have four young-adult children, all of whom are now married and starting families of their own. I enjoy spending time with my family (ask me about my grandkids), working and walking outdoors, home improvements, reading good books, and watching British crime dramas.
Oh, and for those who are interested, I’m a One with a Two-Wing.
